I loved how it started from our human brain structures and went through so many real life examples that I could relate to.100% one of the better "self development" books I've read, and it happens to be on a topic that I needed some help on. Lots of insight and real advice on managing your emotions better. It's refreshing to read about real tips that aren't just about being positive or meditation or something like that. Those books are soo unhelpful and I just felt like I took so many notes I need to go through it again! I know I've said it, but it's so thorough and gives you a ton of tools to tackle your emotions. Resilience is within reach now.

the writing was very clear. this is a survey of known techniques and not a new technique being put forth. Some of the chapters really resonated and I'll be trying out for sure. 4 stars because the rugged look of the cover led me to believe this may cover extreme resiliency techniques like Navy Seals might use, but the techniques were more day to day.
Excellent summary of a lot of the literature surrounding emotions and resilience and how to combine the two. For most of us that means probably one of two things, to bend without breaking and be strong, or to get more in touch with our emotions. I was happy to see this book encapsulated both very neatly and concisely. I have read other books on the topic and this one is so full of real tips to try. Like, real life things, which other books like to dance around and waste too much time with explaining the problem and giving stories - no, this book has those things too but is solution focused which is much better.
The book is stimulating my mind. It reminds me all behaviors in the past and motivates my future of thinking. I love to read over and over again.
Lots of good info, but it went into too much detail for me, and got to be rather tedious. Maybe I'm just a dullard, but I couldn't finish it.
I enjoyed the book and the tips for becoming a more resilient person were useful.
