First thing I noticed when I opened the box, was how much smaller the book is than the first one. I guess M.M. heard the complaints of those who purchased the first book and said it was very large. In this follow up, Mike covers subjects such as nutrition, different types of diets, how to stretch for mobility and flexibility, strength training programs, etc. Great follow up to the 1st book: Bigger, Leaner, Stronger. Make sure you get that book before this one. You should be at the minimum: squatting 300lb., deadlifting 400lb., And bench pressing 225lb. before transferring to Beyond Bigger Leaner Stronger training program. I include a picture were it specifically shows what numbers you should be lifting. The reason for my 3 star review is because Chapter #1 is almost completely missing. Specifically, pages #18,19,20,21,22,23,and page #24 are completely gone. How they could print this copy with so many pages missing is beyond me. I decided not to return it because it wouldn't be worth the hassle for a $7 and change book. Plus, chapter 1 was just an introduction of what's to come. The rest of the book(meat and potatoes) was complete. So 3 stars for missing pages, but 5 stars for information in the book. Great, simple read. If you liked the 1st book, you will enjoy this one also. Hopefully, your copy isn't missing any pages. Lol. There were also a couple of typos that weren't caught during the editing process. But no big deal. I can't wait until I can hit the numbers necessary in my main compound lifts so I can transfer to the workout program in this book. He recommends you stay on the 1st book program for 1-2yrs. Then switch to Beyond B.L.S. I will hit 1yr. on 8/2019. I've seen crazy gains in my first 4 months on the 1st book(BLS). Good luck to everyone on the B.L.S. and Beyond B.L.S. program. Thanks M.M. for another helpful, informative, no non-sense book. That's all.

Science and perfect reasoning. Just the way I like it. I have started yet I'm still on BLS and I have another year before I met my goals but I have lost over 75 pounds on this programs. Its made me stronger and leaner and big in the right places. I only have forty-five more pounds to go before I get to the size I want to be at. I'm very excited.

This was a fantastic book that is jam-packed with qualified information and research to justify the authors point. the biggest takeaway here is that whatever your goals are for your body, that they're numerous ways to achieve them. Constantly in the fitness space, people are looking for the silver-bullet, single solution that will help defeat their demons and achieve masterful results. Well, IT DON'T WORK LIKE THAT and Matthew presents great examples and ideas as to why and which solutions actually can work. I have applied his theory and have dropped over 25 pounds, lowered my body fat percentage by almost 10%, and maintained it over the course of 1.5 years. This is not a get rich quick scheme. This is a way of life. If you need something quicker you can achieve those same results, but it'll be in other fashions not explained in these books, not to mention it's much likelier that you revert back to whatever you were before the change. Commit and you will enjoy life much more. Just make sure that if you do commit to the teachings in this book and the BLS one, that you simplify your life. As with any change your plate has to be small so you can focus intently on the things that matter like getting into optimal strength!PLEASE READ: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVE NOT READ HIS FIRST BOOK BLS (the one with the big yellow background). You need to read that first even if you know a ton on the subject. You need to know how he thinks to help further qualify the material in this book.

I did the Bigger Leaner Stronger program and loved how much I learned. This book does take it a step further. I really enjoy his writing style. This is a much more complex, in-depth approach than the original. This made it a much tougher read. I won't fault the author for this because after you get your initial larger gains, it does get tougher to make consistent progress and requires a tougher approach. This book has taught me a lot and helped me to continue to progress.

I haven't read bigger, leaner, stronger yet. You should definently buy and read that book first. With that being said... I love this author! He uses all the science and studies of why he uses the methods he lays out in the book. The techniques he lays out in this book are definently advanced, but he explains it in ways that anybody can understand.His no bs approach is what many of us out here need. He cuts through a lot of the crap and confusion when it comes to training and nutrition. And the why's of why most of us don't see results we all desire. I love how this book is just a call back to the basics! We try to fancy things up before we even have the firm foundation of basic strength training, form, and nutrition. Highly recommend this author and his work
