This is a very medical text, have a medical dictionary nearby while reading it. That shouldn't be a turn off though because it explains what your doctor knows and is looking for. There is tons of information in this text that you should know as a type one diabetic that will help you out with your disease. Everything is explained as your doctor learned it in medical school. so if he/she tells you something you can go home and look it up again. I like the very technical aspects of this book but for a beginner it is definitely too much. Buy a medical dictionary with if if you don't all ready have one ad know that this isn't your usual diabetes book.
I read Medical Management of Type 1 Diabetes as part of a self-paced CEU course for both my RD and CDE credentials. The book provided a decent review of material I am, for the most part, familiar with. I liked being able to highlight various passages on my kindle as I expect I will reference the text in my practice.
