About the Author

Over the past 15 years I've been passionate about languages and traveling, and my writing reflects my experiences abroad. I’ve visited many different countries around the world, including Spain, Brazil, Italy, China, Russia, and Morocco. This has given me the opportunity to improve my fluency in a number of foreign languages. It also lets me explore different parts of the world, meet interesting people, and learn their histories. Once all is said and done, I take these experiences and use them as inspiration for my job as a high-school foreign languages teacher and the books that I write. When I travel abroad, the last thing I want to do is stay cooped up in a hotel room. Instead, I spend my time getting to know the locals, learning the area’s history, and finding those hidden culinary gems. Of course, I have favorite destinations that I visit more often, but wherever I end up, I stay for at least a month. This gives me ample time to soak up as much of the surrounding culture as I can. This is partly because of my desire and dedication to further my knowledge of far-off places, whether it’s through scholarly journals or—my preference—up-close and personal. There’s no better way to learn about the spirit of a place than directly from the source. I love to absorb and understand a country’s history, dialects, and nuances. This is my favorite way to learn a new language! I write about these countries so I can share the knowledge I’ve gained abroad, as well as my appreciation for the diverse cultures of our world. I hope that my readers will discover the same passion for travel, adventure, and cultural mingling that enjoy so much! My easy-to-understand language-learning books can ignite your interest in far-off places and unlock the language barrier between us and many exciting people and places. Come along with me, as I explore the many hidden corners of the world! Best, Erica Stewart

Good for regional differences. Other handbooks have more and better phrases and a larger vocabulary, but I don't think any have a better discussion of the regional differences in the Spanish language.

The Wisdom to Doubt SkepticismI am writing this review today because the Divine hiddenness argument (DHA) and J.L. Schellenberg’s work in promoting the DHA are being discussed and debated in the religious/atheism blogosphere these days, oftentimes initiated by atheists who are convinced that the DHA is a strong argument in support of God’s alleged non-existence. This has prompted me to return to Schellenberg’s “The Wisdom to Doubt: A Justification of Religious Skepticism” (2007) for a second look and further study and analysis. The outcome of this is to endorse his book as a deep, thoughtful and well-written philosophical analysis of religious belief, but to raise cautions about his fundamental argument and his suggestion that religious skepticism should lead the skeptic to embrace atheism. Allow me to explain my reasons:First, Schellenberg declares in his Introduction that the “higher-level goal” of philosophy of religion is to determine “…whether religious practice is justified.” (p. 6). Here is where my “wisdom to doubt” begins. Is it the role of the philosopher to determine whether or not MY religious practice is justified? Or the religious practice of a particular cultural or religious group justified? Or whether religion as an artifact of human civilization is justified? Schellenberg clearly comes down on the side of atheism throughout his book, with many clues along the way as to his preference in terms of the fate of religious practice. Take for example his discussion chapter titled “The bearing of pragmatic considerations” and specifically, his treatise of “The benefits of disbelief” p. 124-128. According to Schellenberg, disbelief “takes a huge load off our minds” and allows us instead to “enter more completely into the here and now” and “find ourselves more able to relax metaphysically and experience a deeper mental calm and emotional piece” as we are “freed from metaphysical angst and transcendent aspiration.” Not only that, but disbelieve helps us avoid the “self-deception” involved in religious belief and gives us a “willingness to look truth in the face” and puts us into a state of “intellectual high-mindedness” and weaken the “believing disposition” of both “religious and irreligious belief.”Here, my objection to Schellenberg’s argument for religious skepticism is that he has failed to sufficiently address how skepticism plays a role in faith development over a lifetime, where oftentimes skepticism leads not to atheism and the rejection of religion but to affirmation of universal principles embodied in all world religions through stages of cognitive and psychological development in a person’s spiritual and religious life. I recommend that Schellenberg examine the research of Professor James Fowler (1981). Stages of Faith: The Psychology of Human Development and the Quest for Meaning. New York: HarperCollins. However, the concept of faith development throughout a lifetime and the role of skepticism in faith development may be incongruent with Schellenberg’s concerns about religious diversity and the justification for religious practices of spirituality and mysticism through meditative and disciplined prayer as sources of the confirmation and justification of religious “claims.” For further examination of the role of spiritual experiences and meditative and contemplative disciplines in justifying religious faith, I recommend Abraham Maslow (1971). Religions, values and peak-experiences.… Which brings me to my skepticism about Schellenberg’s overall treatment of religion as a collection of “claims” or “propositions” disembodied from communities of faith. Schellenberg defines faith as “a purely voluntary attitude of mental assent toward that proposition, undertaken in circumstances where one views the state of affairs to which it refers as good and desirable but in which one lacks evidence causally sufficient for belief of the proposition.” (p. 7). There are two types of faith: propositional and operational. Both are a response to religious “claims.” A “faith response” to a proposition is where the believer is “mentally going along with the content of [a] proposition” rather than criticizing or ignoring it. In my opinion, this approach to religious belief and religious faith is problematic because the major world religions are coherent and comprehensive belief systems. Their practices are traditions, rituals and symbolic expressions of a view of reality and a moral problem-solving paradigm rather than assent to isolated or particularized claims and propositions. The truth of a religion is much more of an integrated and holistic expression and manifestation of a world view than Schellenberg acknowledges in his endorsement of the skepticism that is to rid us of “metaphysical angst.”In conclusion, The Wisdom to Doubt is “vintage” atheism, with a scholarly analysis of many of the more popular and commonly-known arguments in support of “reasonable nonbelief” in “traditional theism.” These include the Problem of Evil, which Schellenberg intensifies as “horrific suffering.” Schellenberg not only raises objections to the “free will defense” of theists against the Problem of Evil, but concludes that “…free will of the sort we find in the actual world ought to be viewed as an insurmountable impediment to theistic belief rather than a help.” (p. 288). This bold assertion is, unfortunately, not supported by Schellenberg’s musings about how God could achieve goodness and prevent horrific suffering without the risks entailed in granting free will to His human creatures. There is much of value to be gained through a careful and thoughtful reading of Schellenberg’s The Wisdom to Doubt, most especially for philosophy “junkies” and students. However, I sound a note of cautions to those who might too readily and perhaps, without skepticism, accept the author’s rationale for endorsing atheism as the outcome of religious skepticism. Schellenberg does not make his case. Readers of this book who are people of faith, especially, should keep in mind that skepticism, in and of itself, is not truth but is only a vehicle for discovering the truth.

John Schellenberg's book is a highly original and interesting piece of philosophy. His topic is "Ultimism"--the claim that there is an ultimate reality, and that it is salvific in nature. His main thesis will be that we should "sit the fence" epistemically regarding Ultimism--neither affirming it nor denying it. The first part of his book contains four different defenses of this thesis--arguing from, among other things, the object of Ultimism (is it knowable or unknowable by humans?), our evidence for Ultimism, human inability to appropriate experience the divine, etc. In the second part of his book, Schellenberg engages arguments for naturalism, and arguments from religious experience for theism. Naturalism, of course, denies Ultimism, and theism affirms it. Schellenberg argues that neither can support their respective theses-- "Ultimism is false" and "Ultimism is true"-- and attempts to undercut both. In the third part of his book, Schellenberg provides four arguments against theism--two versions of his "divine hiddenness" argument, an argument for horrors, and an argument from the existence of free will. His thought here is that, even if Ultimism may be true, the theistic version of Ultimism must be false. This book has many virtues. Many of the arguments are original and interesting. The book can be appreciated at different levels, from professional philosophers to undergraduates. He treats many issues in epistemology, including Plantinga and Alston's religious epistemology, "skeptical" theism, the nature of evidence, etc. Schellenberg's treatment of naturalism is particularly interesting. Further, contained within is his most sophisticated formulation of the problem of hiddenness--i.e. the problem that, if God existed, then why he is so "hidden" from most people such that they do not believe in him. The vices of this book are few. E.g. the book is "unhurried"--as the back cover states--and dense, concluding after over 300 pages; a large amount of time is needed to engage it! But, for those with the time, the book is an interesting and engaging work. This book is the second of a trilogy. The first is Prolegomena to a Philosophy of Religion. The third is The Will to Imagine: A Justification of Skeptical Religion.

The Anxiety Survival Guide for Teens: CBT Skills to Overcome Fear, Worry, and Panic (The Instant Help Solutions Series)

From School Library Journal

Gr 7 Up—This installment of this series of health self-help guides for teens focuses on using cognitive-behavioral therapy to overcome anxiety. Everyone feels nervous or upset on occasion, says Shannon, but when anxiety negatively affects self-esteem and independence, additional support is needed. This easy-to-read volume helps readers recognize when the "monkey mind," or the primitive, instinctual part of the brain, is doing the thinking and offers advice in overcoming those thoughts. The author's strategies are practical and designed to help teens facing all kinds of anxiety-inducing scenarios. VERDICT While this book isn't necessarily one that teens would self-select from the library shelves, it's a good option as a desk copy for middle and high school counselors.—Elaine Baran Black, Georgia Public Library Service, Atlanta

Padesky, PhD, psychologist and coauthor of Mind Over Mood  “This is the first self-help book I’ve ever read where the narrator doesn’t over-romanticize the possibilities to get better soon. What a relief! In a calm, orderly manner, author Jennifer Shannon characterizes and gives specific instructions for different kinds of anxiety: shyness and social anxiety, panic and agoraphobia, specific phobias, generalized anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The tone is just so warm and pleasant, and every teen who suffers from anxiety—but doesn’t know what kind yet—can easily recognize him or herself in the detailed and often funny examples, without being scared to death. It’s the best introduction to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that I’ve ever seen, and it’s amazing that it’s written specifically for teens, because they need it so much. I wish it had existed for little teenage me.”—Peter Henrichsen, editor at Youth Culture Denmark

We looked at MANY books about teenage anxiety and settled on this one. This has helped my son tremendously. I really don't know what we would have done without it!!If your child wants to understand their anxiety better and not feel alone in it then this is the book you need for them!

I was profoundly impressed with the way this book explains anxiety to teens. The book is helpful and applies to helping teens with various anxiety issues. Adults could benefit as well as it is written clearly with excellent skill suggestions.

I like this book so much because of the way Ms Shannon teaches us. In a clear and engaging manner, she takes a complex subject and puts it into simple language. Although written specifically for teens, the ideas and writing are strong enough to help anyone. Shannon uses the simile of an anxious brain being like a monkey’s mind, “. . . its relentless stream of scary thoughts is like a frightened monkey’s chatter” to give us an image we can remember. She then teaches us how to stop the monkey’s chattering. We all know that hearing stories is a powerful way to understand and remember ideas, and Ms Shannon uses this technique so effectively. She tells stories of fictitious teens . . . of how they become anxious, how the anxiety affects their lives, and how they get better. The stories appear with perceptive illustrations that enhance the ideas and provide the reader with a memorable visual. I related instantly to the characters, and the stories really helped me make a plan to use the “Tools that Tame the Monkey” and “Tools that Rule the Monkey”. Shannon follows up her stories with straightforward explanations of classic CBT tools I can follow in order to get better (to stop the monkey chatter). When my “monkey brain” is chattering away at night when I’m trying to go to sleep, I practice the techniques Ms Shannon taught me, and am getting better at being able to relax and sleep.

This is the most comprehensive and easy to understand book on anxiety that I have ever read. I stumbled upon this book as I was trying to find help for my teen with anxiety, but realized it helped me much more. It has practical techniques for identifying and dealing with anxiety and I have recommended it to just about everyone I've talked to in the last few weeks. Thank you Jennifer Shannon for writing this book in a way we can all understand.

So good! I use it to run a small group for teens

Looks like it will fit our needs well. Clear and engaging.

For my daughter.

Great. Easy language. Practical strategies for conquering typical teenage anxieties

Very large map of Sweden and Norway. Somewhat cumbersome to fold. Since we were only going to Norway we cut it n half and that worked very well! A little difficult for my old eyes to read, but it was what we were looking for

This map is so large in space t has limited functionality. To use it for anything other than the most generic freeway map and you would need more detail, ((and even that is hard to see)

It is a map of Norway, just what we wanted. However, it is large and cumbersome and difficult to use. It is almost impossible to use the index without refolding the whole map, and the paper is thin. There has to be something more useful.

Review

“The most important voice to have entered the political discourse in years.” ―Bill Moyers“Glenn Greenwald's latest book is an absolute must-read. Incredibly persuasive, rigorous and damning.” ―Christopher Hayes“Glenn Greenwald is not just the American Left's most fearless political commentator; his fearlessness is such that he has shifted the expectations for everyone else, too. His rock-ribbed principles and absolute disregard for partisan favor have made U.S. political discourse edgier, more confrontational, and much, much better.” ―Rachel Maddow“See this book? Then grab it. Read it. Shove it into everyone's face. This is the kind of text supporters of progress and justice urgently need. We need its honesty and clarity; its focus on what matters; and its expertise... We also need its courage, for it tells us what many suspect, but few dare to shout out.” ―PopMatters“Greenwald lets no one off the hook in demonstrating the vast differences in legal recourse between rich and poor, powerful and weak… When the executive, judicial and legislative branches collude to avoid enforcement, lawlessness is the end result.” ―Kirkus Reviews“The first thing I do when I turn on the computer in the morning is go to Glenn Greenwald's blog to see what he said. He is truly one of our greatest writers right now.” ―Michael Moore

Greenwald delivers a scathing review of the United States' broken legal system in this book from 2012. Known for his powerful, smart critiques of greater powers, the author quickly points out how unequal the justice system is between the economic elite and everyday citizenry. From Bush's epic plundering of Iraq and horrific torture regime to Obama's droning of the Middle East and silencing of whistleblowers to the financial calamity of 2008, Greenwald analyzes how each group has avoided legal action -- even helping to rewrite laws and provide retroactive immunity to criminals.Much of the book covers well tread territory, though. I've read books on all of these major topics from "Dirty Wars" to "The Big Short" that chronicle the terrifying rise of income inequality, totalitarian war powers, and unequal justice. Greenwald tends to scratch the surface on all these areas, rather than going into greater detail. Two-thirds of the book is dedicated to primarily the executive branch's wrongdoings, which felt frustrating. I expected there to be more emphasis on those most disenfranchised by the inequality.Greenwald, as always, is a skillful writer and columnist. His words ring true and research proves his point: the justice system is broken, but we can improve it. Two stars removed due to the aforementioned points regarding novelty of coverage and depth for poorest classes who are suffering most.

I became aware of Glenn Greewald because of his involvement with Edward Snowden. It turns out, he's a great author as well. With Liberty and Justice for Some is a well-researched and well-argued book about how politicians and large business owners very literally rule our country and are not bound by the same laws as us. Several examples are used to support this argument: The Bush administration wasn't punished for torturing people, communications companies weren't punished for selling user information to the government. The book touches upon many ideas that Snowden would confirm later on.Be a responsible citizen and read this book. Support Greenwald. He argues from fact and his facts are trenchant.

Glenn Greenwald forces us to acknowledge what we already know and are reluctant to admit: the rule of law no longer exists in our country. He lays out in exquisite detail evidence that there exist two tiers in our justice system whereby the rich and powerful are immune from prosecution for almost any crime while the plebes are subject to ever more draconian punishments via the very same system where equal justice is supposed to be meted out to all. After reading this book, one wonders how any citizen can even bother voting when the very representatives we elect to represent our interests exert themselves to rewrite laws to provide protection for their paymasters. A vote is essentially an endorsement; is it really one's civic duty to to endorse by voting for him the questionable behavior of a politician? This is not a question raised in this book but the facts presented are indeed so disturbing that it is a valid question. An excellent piece of work by a true patriot.

The Dept. of Justice, in celebration of the sentencing of Don Siegelman, sent out a press release with this declaration: :'The outcome of this case reflects the unflagging commitment of the Department of Justice to hold public officials accountable for corruption,' said Assistant Attorney General Breuer."Such hogwash. Read "Liberty and Justice for Some" and you will know this is not true (in case you missed the immunities granted to Wall Street and banks who defrauded the nation and brought us to our knees).I lived through the events described in this book. I did not want to see the pattern that is so evident, but now I torture myself with the text because--unless we the not-powerful unite to change the judicial system someone we care about could be next. That is why I wrote "Accidental Felon." I want readers who might not read Silverglate's" Three Felonies a Day" or "Liberty and Justice for Some" to know there is a two-tier system in our courts, the lower tier for most of us, and the higher tier for the elite who have tremendous power and are permitted to do anything--in violation of our Constitution. This book makes it crystal clear.

Glen Greenwald has done it again. Equality under the law is an expression that most Americans believe in expect to be the case. It is not. Mr. Greenwald makes the case, and I think very well that equality under the law is illusionary for most of us. A corporation in trouble with the law? Just get you friends in congress to change the law. Malfeasance in office, high crimes and misdemeanors? Not to worry, your fellow politicians in congress and the White House will poor oil on the waters regardless of party. Like many authors, Mr. Greenwald is branded as a liberal or leftist but what he really is is a journalist looking for the truth. You will not find him soft peddling on the Democrats nor Republicans and he provides enough context and factual examples to make hard hitting and important points on the corruption of a bedrock tenet of American principal.

Glenn Greenwald reminds us that we have a Constitution whose framers thought wisely and carefully about what laws would be required to ensure Liberty and Justice for ALL. Several of the Founding Fathers are quoted, providing their reasons for including many of the most critical passages.Today, we are living with a Supreme Court decision, in Citizens United, that equates money with free speech -- and which essentially has resulted in legalized bribery in the form of campaign contributions to candidates for office: (S)he who gives, gets. And when criminality is exposed, high fliers who can afford the best lawyers rarely go to jail; those without the means to afford a good lawyer have little chance to prove innocence. Thus "With Liberty and Justice for Some."

Being Muslim (Groundwork Guides), by Haroon Siddiqui

From School Library Journal

Adult/High School—This balanced, concise book is an excellent resource for social studies or debate class. Siddiqui explores the current political, religious, and secular aspects of being a member of the world's fastest-growing religion. He challenges Western assumptions about Islam and assigns blame to both the West and Islamic fundamentalists for fanning the flames of Islamophobia. Although he tackles stereotypes, the author is not a Muslim apologist-he describes the tenets of the religion in objective, non-proselytizing prose, acknowledging the need for reforms while explaining that most oppression of women results from traditional cultural practices rather than Islamic teachings. Siddiqui acknowledges the desperate living conditions many Muslims endure in the developing world, emphasizing the need to address these circumstances instead of offering them as a valid excuse for violence. He describes what post-9/11 life has been like for Muslims in the United States, in Europe, and in Muslim countries. Sidebars illustrate Islamic contributions to popular culture (e.g., Muslim stand-up comics and hip-hop artists), and the index, notes, bibliography, and illustrative charts are all useful. The author's tone is conversational and engaging, and frequent breaks in the text make this small book very readable.—Sondra VanderPloeg, Tracy Memorial Library, New London, NH Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. From Booklist

*Starred Review* In the wake of 9/11, "Islam-bashing" bears all the symptoms of racism as it holds up the relatively few fanatics as representative of all 1.3 billion Muslims. That's the argument of award-winning Canadian journalist Siddiqui, past president of PEN Canada, a writers' group that is a leading advocate of free speech. His clear, passionate discussion confronts international issues that are in the news now, including recent controversies over cartoon representations of Prophet Muhammad, the debate surrounding the wearing of the hijab (traditional headscarf), and issues of faith and feminism, suicide bombing, and more. While clearly concerned about terrorism and other dangers, Siddiqui attacks the propaganda of collective guilt. Without preaching or political jargon and drawing on his travels and interviews in Muslim countries, he shows that the extremists are being challenged by a new generation of Muslims, and welcomes the current internal reformation. He also asks penetrating questions: for example, Why does the U.S. turn a blind eye to suffocating restrictions on women in Saudi Arabia? Including documented chapter notes and an "Essential Reading" list, this timely volume in the Groundwork Guide series is sure to spark debate. Like Jane Springer's Genocide (2006), also part of the series, this is excellent for classroom discussion. Hazel RochmanCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved

This book was a good idea. It helps to explain what it really means to be Muslim, especially in America. But its intentions of bringing support and tolerance to Muslim beliefs and behaviors is undermined by the arguments of the author. Too many remarks are hostile or laced with malice. Too often the author criticized Americans and American policy and how it has affected Muslims. I'm not saying the author is wrong, but this approach is not going to breed sympathy. There's surely a better alternative out there.

Tons of data and numbers and justifications but little or no insights the title suggests. It's pretty aggressive and defensive. I was hoping for something informative and neutral. It is not. If acceptance comes from understanding... find another book.

For school

great

Much better can ndition than expected for an amazingly low price.

A Muslim perspective on Western-Muslim relations during the first 8 or so years of the 21st century. We need to hear more like this, even if we might not agree with all of it.

This book is perfect for those who know little about the Muslim world. It is very relevant to today considering the Mosque in New York and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I hope everyone that reads this book enjoys it as much as I have.

This is an extraordinary frank and honest look at what it means to be Muslims. It does not dodge hard questions that Muslims face about their religion, nor does it flinch from helping non-Muslims feel the sense of threat that Muslims often feel. It is unfortunate that toward the end the author's defensiveness comes through too much.

"Low" is by far my favorite David Bowie album, and maybe my favorite album of all-time. Wilcken's book is short, but packs more of a punch than many (actually all) of the larger volumes about this specific period in the mercurial musician's development. This book is jam-packed with info about Bowie's descent into cocaine-fueled madness during his "Thin White Duke" period, on into his miraculous recovery and redefinition of himself and his sound in Berlin. There is a lot of good technical info about how Tony Visconti achieved those beautifully distorted drum sounds on songs like "Speed of Life" and "Sound and Vision," as well as some choice nuggets about minimalist maestro Brian Eno. The writing is rich without being too self-indulgent, which is always a risk with music journalism (see Lester Bangs). Highest recommendation.

This is a smart little book about David Bowie's album Low, which is one of his finest and strangest records (recently winning an online poll among Bowie fans ranking Bowie's best albums). In a hundred-odd pocket-sized pages, Hugo Wilcken covers the recording of the album in appropriate detail and takes the time to talk about each individual song. He also explores the lead-up to Low, starting with Bowie's previous album, Station to Station, as well as the Iggy Pop album The Idiot, which Bowie produced and co-wrote (and first experimented with some of the sounds used on Low). For such a small book, there's a wealth of information in these pages, and Wilcken writes it all in a clear, easy-to-follow style. Highly recommended. And if you like this one, other books in the 33 1/3 series I've read and recommend are:Geeta Dayal's book on Brian Eno's Another Green World Brian Eno's Another Green World (33 1/3 series)Jonathan Lethem's book on Talking Heads' Fear of Music Talking Heads' Fear of Music (33 1/3)Mark Polizzotti's book on Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited (33 1/3)

There are a few things I'd expect from a book like this: a description of the way the album was made, detailed but not concerned with trivia; analysis of the music itself, detailed but not overblown; biography of the artist, at least enough to understand where the album came from. This book has all of that. It's difficult for an entire book about a single album to be intriguing from start to finish, but this mostly manages.Highlights included: a solid description of just where Bowie was, mentally, when he made the album (a description which does a lot to explain the album's unique mood). Explanation of the album's influences, with focus on acts like Kraftwerk and Neu!, as well as the ways the album connects to its predecessor, Station to Station. And track-by-track analysis which actually feels justified: not drawn-out or unnecessary (although not of much interest to anyone but the committed fan), but not clipped or peremptory. It's a book-length analysis of a brilliant album. If you're a hardcore David Bowie fan, a lot of it is already familiar to you; if you love the album but don't know anything about its history, it's a must-read. There's nothing "ambitious" about the book--it's no more or less than the story of Low--but it does its job well.

This book will stir you up and get you excited about the artistic creative process. It's reads like a novel and there is not a boring moment in the book. Outstanding. Check out Brian Eno's new album Lux as a companion to reading this book. Along with Low of course. Both masterpieces.

Excellent look at both the making and meaning oof Bowie's Low album, but also a peek at the significance of the record in predicting the future of rock music. Well-written and well-worth reading for a fan of Bowie or of rock history in general.

This is perhaps the finest, most detailed analysis of Bowie's work I've ever read, and I earnestly entreat the author to consider taking on the remainder of the Berlin trilogy albums. In spite of the minor error or three (that's Walter Tevis who wrote The Man Who Fell To Earth, not Travis), this book answers so many questions I've always wanted to ask about "Low"-- which is saying a lot, as this has remained one of the most important albums of all time to my own musical work. Great stuff!

I completely recommend this book along with the "Pushing Ahead of The Dame" blog if you want to know more about Bowie and arguably the finest and most significant of all his albums. It's a light but engaging read that can be done with in an afternoon and that's part of my only complaint really, i wish it was still more explicit about the working process and credits but it does pretty much covers everything.

Hugo Wilcken does an excellent job of bringing on the ambience of Bowie's world, circa mid 70s, not only focusing on the first disc of the Berlin Trilogy, Low, but capturing the mindset of the world in which Bowie lived, one full of drugs, Iggy Pop's The Idiot, Station to Station and so much more. Informative, not quite perfect, but too good not to give the full five stars and my personal fave of this series so far.JCS
